Held in Eureka Springs, Arkansas the Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival brings a full weekend of fat tire fun to the Midwest. Races, fun rides, kids events, and a festival are all part of this exciting weekend event.
Beginning on Friday, the entire weekend is full of great race events. Races include Super D, Cross Country, Observed Trials, Downhill, and Short Track; there is something for everyone. Friday begins with PBR Downhill & PTD Super D Practice after which riders will take to the track for some short track racing. Stick around afterwards for an after-party at Sparky’s Road House. Saturday is packed full of events starting at 7:00am and culminating in Super D racing, the awards ceremony, and another after-party. XC racers will finally have their chance to hit the course on Sunday.
Those who are not racing also have the opportunity to hit the XC course on Saturday for the XC pre-ride. Riders have several mileage options to choose from and can bailout at various points along the trails.
An additional ride option on Saturday is the Big Town Ride,
This ride is the epitome of all the secret Eureka trail adventures you have heard of and will be led by Several Local Riders. Without hesitation you will dive into single track and begin a tour through the back streets, alleys and secret routes only the natives know about… Broken down into three segments, the ride will offer a bail-out option every 3-5 miles.
There is plenty for the kids to do this weekend as well. Kids can also participate in the rodeo and kids races as well. Friday night they can take part in the kid’s short track race. Saturday is the Leatherwood Kids Fun Ride. This ride will take the children from the paved trails of the local ball fields and onto the flat, Leatherwood Trail. The riders will complete up to 6 miles of riding on this fun ride. At 11:00am the Skills Course will open for kids to really test themselves on this mini free-ride park. The weekend culminates in Sunday’s kid’s rodeo and XC race.
Three days of hard riding and racing deserve three equally fun after-parties. Both Friday and Saturday will end with great after-parties which will include live music, food, and drink. Sunday’s after-ride festivities include a pool-party at the local pool including pizza and beverages.
There is plenty to do from racing and riding to spectating and partying. It will be a great event for the whole family.
