Jingle Cross in Iowa City was on most riders’ radar the following weekend. As a World Cup event, the popular race weekend brought in riders from around the world. Plenty of great spectating, exciting racing, and ancillary events made for a full weekend of cycling action.

The Kansas City area welcomed another new venue with Castle Cross put on by the good folks over at LocalCycling.com. Held in the Jazz District at 18th and Vine, the course offered many unique and challenging features including a ride through the “castle”, rough cobbled pathways, gravel, and pavement sections. Kansas City area riders will be treated to two more days of cross this weekend with Cliff Drive Cross. The event serves as the 3rd and 4th races in the Kansas Best Cyclocross Racer/Team Series. In addition to the cross races, the Kessler Fiesta will host a full weekend of activites:

“This year we are stepping it up! Friday evening dirt jump jam. Saturday downhill MTB, cyclocross, and Cliffhanger races. Sunday trail run, longboarding stoke clinic, cross country MTB, and cyclocross races. Demos all weekend for disc golf, natural rock climbing, and road/MTB cycling. The FRESH food truck will be keeping people fueled up. Beer, duh. Please invite everyone you know and let’s KESSLER FIESTA!”
