The Kansas Cycling Association has adopted the rules for the 2013 KBAR-T or Kansas Best All-Round Rider and Team. The competition will include key races from around the state and will represent all types of road racing throughout the season. KCA hopes to announce the races that will be part of the series by February 1st.  New this year is a trophy for the best overall team. The competition includes men and women category racers, masters, and juniors.

The KBAR series competition was developed by the Kansas Cycling Association to promote racing and to recognize the most competitive racers in the KBAR Series. KBAR races are a balanced set of road races, time trials, and criteriums that have demonstrated themselves as a challenge to racers and have met the standards set for race promoters by the KCA.

Competitions like this encourage riders to participate in a wide range of events and to try out races from different promoters. Winners will get free race entries to 2014 KBAR events. Riders will also be recognized on the KCA website’s Hall of Champions. 2013 State Championships are automatically included in the series and are worth double points. The 2013 State Races are:

TallGrass Omnium – Age Crit and Road Race
Tailwind Time Trial Walnut – Age and Category Time Trial
Tour of Lawrence – Category Crit and Road Race
LocalCycling Track Race – Age and Category Track
