There is a lot of racing going on in the Midwest this week. Joe Martin starts today, and many racers from around the region are heading to Arkansas to participate in the stage race. Some other area events are listed below.

Kansas

Saturday is the Bruce Edwards Memorial Time Trial 10K in Easton, KS. On Sunday, the Joseph Sheehan Road Race is just down the road from the time trial. Both of the races are part of the KBAR series.

Iowa

Racing action heats up in Iowa With the CLMC TT and Road Race on Saturday and the 36th edition of the  Old Cap Criterium on Sunday. This year, these events make up the Chris Lillig Memorial Cup Omnium.

Missouri ultra-distance riders will participate in the 400KM brevet on Saturday that begins in Liberty, MO. The route will take riders up to Iowa, and they will then return to Liberty. Event Site

Single-speed dirt lovers can head to the Forest City trails in Saint James, MO, for the single-speed championships. Event Site

If you want something more laidback, you can head to STL for the Bike St. Louis City Tour on Sunday. This ride begins at Anheuser-Busch and offers three distance options for riders to choose from.

“This urban ride features some of St. Louis’s most distinctive neighborhoods and destinations, including Soulard, Lafayette Park, Tower Grove Park, and the Central West End. The route also includes a stop at the Penrose Park Velodrome — take a spin if you dare! This urban ride is recommended for experienced cyclists.”
