After a weekend off in most areas for Easter, racing is back on around the region. There are plenty of cycling events around the area to keep everyone plenty busy.

Arkansas

The 37th annual Joe Martin Stage Race takes place this weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas. With both amateur and NRC racing, this is a big event for the Midwest and one of the first big race events of the year. Racing begins on Thursday and runs through the weekend.

Missouri

The OMBA Caramba mountain bike race will take place on Saturday in Springfield.

Kansas

Riders can take to the road both days this weekend with the Bruce Edwards Memorial Time Trial on Saturday followed up by the Joseph Sheehan Road Race. Both events take place in the Leavenworth area.

Iowa

Iowa riders will have a full schedule of racing at the Chris Lillig Memorial Cup/Old Capitol Criterium race. The event hosts a road race and time trial on Saturday and a criterium on Sunday. All events are held in the Iowa City area.

Illinois

Illinois has a few different events to choose from. Those looking to emulate the recent spring classics in Europe can head to Hillsboro, IL to take part in the 13th Annual IC3 Hillsboro-Roubaix. Bloomington is hosting the Twin Cities Women’s Race Clinic and those looking for some off-road racing can head to Marilla Park in Streator, IL to take part in the IVCA Dirty Mudd’r Gravel Gran Fondo

As always this time of season, there are plenty of mid-week training series to take part in throughout the region.
